Intimate Betrayer (2024)

This drama tells the story of Jang Tae-soo, a top South Korean profiler who investigates a murder case involving his daughter, and the secrets he uncovers that are completely different from the daughter he thought he knew. The premise of having to suspect each other within the closest relationship of family is quite intriguing. Especially as you follow the case step by step, it constantly makes you wonder, "Could it be this person?" which made it hard to relax throughout the viewing. It was impressive how the story unfolded, focusing on the trust, suspicion, and hidden secrets between parents and children, rather than simply being a crime procedural about finding the culprit. It was a breathtaking part of the experience. While watching, I found myself suspecting every single action of the characters. Scenes that initially seemed insignificant took on different meanings later on, making it fun to piece things together. If you enjoy quiet yet intense thrillers or mystery dramas centered around family, this might be worth a watch.
