Oak Tree

While we commonly call them oak trees, trees that bear acorns are collectively referred to as trees in the Fagaceae family. Among them, there are 6 representative oak species in Korea: Shingal oak, Deokgal oak, Sangsu oak, Galcham oak, Julcham oak, and Gulcham oak. Each tree has different shapes for its leaves and acorns, as well as the appearance of its acorn shells. The tree in the photo appears to be a Shingal oak among them.
