My dad left when I was 8 years old for another woman. He even left my mom with a lot of debt. My mom worked from 4 AM at a restaurant and cleaned until 11 PM, working every single day without a break. I called my dad and said, "Mom is having a really hard time, can you please give her some money?" but he just hung up. As a child, I was incredibly shocked. Once, my mom had a severe fever and was sweating profusely. I told her, "Mom, you should rest for a day." She replied, "No~ I'm okay, Mom is invincible!" and went to work that day too. She raised my sibling and me like that for over 10 years. I went to college, getting as many scholarships as possible. When I started working part-time and giving her some money, she finally had some breathing room. After I graduated and quickly got a job to let my mom rest, She teared up and said, "My daughter has grown up so much already." A few years later, my sibling also graduated college, and I got married and had a baby. When I told her, "Mom, you're a grandma now," she was overjoyed.
