I thought our happy days were just beginning. One day, Mom kept vomiting and felt dizzy. When we took her to the hospital, the doctor said, "It's end-stage renal failure. You need to consider a transplant." We were all shocked and speechless. Back home, Mom said, "It's okay, I'm not worried because you kids have grown up well." But I felt so sorry for her that I cried. She met a bad man, raised two young children all by herself, and worked her whole life. Just when things were getting better and she was about to be happy, this happened. I cursed the heavens. After agonizing for several nights, I said, "Mom, they think my kidney might be a match. You only need one kidney, you know~" "Are you crazy?! You want to cut your own child? Don't ever say that again!" Mom got really angry and said she was tired and wanted to go like this. "I can't live without you, Mom!! 😭😭" My sibling and I finally convinced her after a week. As we entered the operating room together, I said, "Mom, let's live happily together for a long, long time." She just shed tears. Now, we're both fully recovered and living healthy lives. ❤
