I saw something about joining Elite and getting VIP or something. What does joining Elite mean?

Sounds like you're talking about the Season Pass VIP.

If you start now, it's a timed/seasonal event, so you won't be able to complete all the daily missions and will miss out. You should start right when the locker opens to finish on time. I started late too and missed the last 3 days of missions, so I know it's a loss. Also, the final rewards are good, and it's the 14,000 won VIP locker.
