Jeebanoff - Talking Book 2: Liner Notes Review

Jeebanoff's fourth full-length album, [Talking Book 2], is a collaboration with long-time partner plan8, following the EP [Talking Book] (2020). Once again, the duo delivers R&B where sound and vocals intertwine closely. While varying the instrumental combinations in each track, the atmosphere centered around Jeebanoff's voice remains consistent. What permeates the album is the comfort that the two musicians have cultivated together. The core of the production lies in synthesizers, keyboards, and drums. Within this basic framework, plan8 utilizes piano, guitar, and bass to alter the texture of the songs. Even as the instrumental lineup changes, the harmony between vocals and accompaniment is stable. Rather than asserting individual prominence, they naturally mesh within a single song, with the melody settling effortlessly on top. The sensibility of combining familiar elements and the ability to orchestrate the entire track support the music.
