Parting

Not everyone is meant to stay by your side forever. Some people are just passing through, while others walk with you for a long time, only to go their separate ways at some point. Just because someone leaves, doesn't mean you were lacking, or that you could have done better. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, there are people you just can't hold onto, and relationships that won't return, no matter the effort. So please, don't hurt your own hands trying to hold onto someone who's leaving. Letting go doesn't mean you didn't love them. It simply means you're now respecting their path and yours. Not every bond is meant to last forever. Sometimes, you need to let someone go to finally see the path ahead of you. So don't stare too long at their retreating back, searching for a reason why you were left behind. Someday, you'll realize it was far more important not to lose yourself, than to hold onto someone who left.
