I just wanted to play Minecraft peacefully...

One day, I was playing Minecraft with a friend. The previous day, I had been struck by lightning frequently and experienced a bug where lightning hit my house, so I installed a lightning rod. At that moment, it seemed like all the lightning was focusing on the lightning rod, and it started striking at light speed. I told my friend about it and we were playing, when suddenly a creeper spawned right next to me, and due to the lightning, creepers started spawning rapidly. I yelled to my friend, "Help me! What is happening LOL," and my friend came over to that spot too. So, my friend and I removed the lightning rod, but the lightning kept striking. We had no choice but to dig down to where the creepers were spawning and kill them. After this was over, my friend asked if I was being quiet, and then accused me of using hacks, which led to a small argument. However, I didn't even have command permissions at the time, and I had no idea how to install hacks or anything like that. So, we reconciled over that issue and finished playing. Does anyone know what kind of bug this is?
