I Am Legend (2007)
This is the zombie apocalypse film that delivered the biggest shock and message: [ I Am Legend (2007) ]. While the common perception of a zombie movie is simply 'a movie about surviving by escaping zombies,' and most zombie films follow that plot, this movie seems to pose the question, "How differently can the same movie be perceived depending on the perspective?" The film is about a virus-immune survivor living alone in New York during an era when most of humanity has died or is hiding due to the side effects of a drug developed for treatment, striving for survival and the salvation of humanity (by developing an antidote). Uniquely, this movie has two different ending versions. The theatrical version has a perhaps predictable ending where the protagonist ultimately saves humanity. The director's cut, conversely, presents an ending from the perspective of the protagonist being a "legendary murderer" from the viewpoint of the minority (or few=humans) being kidnapped and experimented on by the mainstream (or majority=zombies) in the name of saving humanity.

Author(Continuing because the original post was cut off due to the 500-character limit) ...while the predictable ending casts the protagonist as the savior, it presents a truly unique ending for a zombie movie, suggesting the protagonist could also be seen as a murderer from a different perspective. There were rumors of [I Am Legend 2] being produced around 2024, and it's a shame it hasn't been released yet, but if a sequel's release is confirmed, I highly recommend watching the first movie.

This movie is a masterpiece~ Will Smith's acting and directing were truly legendary!! It was a box office success, of course, but I remember it as a movie that kept me on the edge of my seat with its tension and immersion. I've been looking for series and movies to watch in my spare time lately, and there are so many masterpieces from the past that I wonder when I'll ever get to watch them all. I'm in a happy dilemma^^

The ending of this movie is a bit different in the director's cut, which is confusing...
