The mango season is nearing its end. Yujing is too far, so while strolling through Tainan's Anping Old Street, I went to Anping BB Gun Taro Ball Master to eat mango shaved ice. Their mango shaved ice is called "Deep Night Full of Mangoes," featuring mango snow ice + passion fruit ice cream + mango chunks + condensed milk. The portion size is generous, so one mango shaved ice can be shared by two or three people. Their taro ball series, whether iced or hot, is also quite delicious. So even though they were super appealing~ they've become discontinued. But these great places are worth remembering ✍️ That's why I wanted to start a series reminiscing about excellent restaurants that have closed! Feel free to share yours too, but please clearly mark it in the title, so as not to disappoint others 🫶 'To nine 今夜酒吧' used to be located near Formosa Boulevard Station. The interior had a camping theme, with camping chairs, picnic tables, and warm string lights. As soon as you sat down, you felt like you had escaped the city 🏕️✨ Recommended dishes: 🔥 Campfire Tiramisu This dish was truly memorable! Mascarpone cheese mousse, ice cream, paired with cocoa-flavored ladyfingers, with various liquors added, and finally, 'eau de vie' was poured directly on top to ignite it 🔥 As the flames burned, cocoa powder was sprinkled, and the sparkling flames felt like playing with sparklers as a child ✨ It was hot on the outside and cold on the inside, with a bittersweet taste, a boozy aroma, and a slight spiciness. It wasn't just sweet, but a dessert with a distinct 'adult flavor'. 💜 Aurora Made with gin, butterfly pea flower, yogurt, and sparkling water. The pinkish-purple color was incredibly dreamy, and it tasted refreshingly sweet and sour. ☕ Decaf Coffee No alcohol, no caffeine, and no burden. The sweet and sour aroma of rose, apple, cranberry, and roselle was very pleasing. I actually prefer this kind of atmosphere where you can sit down, chat, and slowly enjoy a drink ❤️ It's a real shame this place closed down~ Do you have any favorite restaurants that have already closed? This is a place famous for its super large and crispy fried chicken skin, recommended by influencers. Last time I was scrolling on my phone, I saw a video of a big shot named Da Feng大哥 going to buy it, and the scene was truly wicked. A whole, uncut, super large piece of chicken skin going straight into the fryer, it made my mouth water. Coincidentally, I passed by Yi Min Miao Kou Fried Chicken, and immediately decided to follow the trend and buy a portion to try! Located in Sanmin District, Yi Min Miao Kou Fried Chicken starts business at 3 PM. When I arrived, there were already people waiting in line. The owner's hands didn't stop, but there was only one fryer, so it really required some patience for a fresh fry. The owner kindly said, "Did you see us online? You'll have to wait a bit!" The signature crispy chicken skin is just a coin's toss for a portion. When I got it, it was piping hot. The appearance was completely different from the usual small,碎碎 (suì suì - fragmented) salted crispy chicken skin; it was a whole, large piece. Taking a bite, the "crunch" sound was incredibly loud! The skin was fried to a golden crisp and had no oily aftertaste at all. Biting into the inner side, it still retained a bit of the chicken skin's own fatty aroma. Paired with the savory pepper salt, it really makes you unable to stop at just one piece. When it cools down, it becomes as crispy as a cracker. It's wicked but very stress-relieving.
