Campus Safety Red Alert: Kaohsiung Junior High Girl Faces Long-Term Sexual Harassment by Classmate; School's Reporting Delayed,
In Kaohsiung, a junior high school first-grader, just two months into her studies, endured two months of continuous sexual harassment and indecent assault by a male classmate within the school campus. The male student repeatedly assaulted her by 'hugging her from behind while standing' and 'thrusting his lower body against her buttocks,' even forcibly pulling her into the restroom to verbally abuse her. His actions were extremely malicious. The victim suffered prolonged physical and mental distress, experiencing severe symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, and school refusal. She was also ostracized by her peers, eventually being diagnosed with 'Adjustment Disorder with Anxiety Symptoms' and was forced to transfer schools for treatment, away from the painful environment. Enraged, the girl's parents jointly sued the male student and his parents for 600,000 NTD in damages. After review by the Qiaotou District Court, the juvenile court found the male student's actions to be in violation of the Criminal Code's 'Aggravated Indecent Assault' charge. However, due to his status as a minor, only a reprimand and weekend life guidance were ordered. In the civil case, considering the financial situations of both parties, the severity of the assault, and the severe psychological trauma suffered by the victim, the judge ruled that the male student and his parents must jointly compensate 140,000 NTD. The case is still subject to appeal. According to the 'Gender Equality Education Act,' schools have an obligation to protect students. If a campus sexual harassment incident occurs due to the school's failure to fulfill its duties, public schools are liable for state compensation. Although the school in this case initiated a campus safety report and investigation after the incident, the victimized female student continued to suffer for two months with no recourse, indicating that the campus safety protection mechanism clearly failed to function in a timely manner. This trashy guy, and he only gets extra weekend classes with no other punishment?? Only fined 140,000 NTD and can still appeal?? What kind of garbage school allows bullying, and what kind of rotten justice system protects the perpetrator 🤬

The Most Hardcore Legend of WWII: The 'War Bear' Wojtek
In 1942, near Hamadan, Iran, a young boy captured a Syrian brown bear cub and sold it to Polish II Corps soldiers stationed there for a few cans of meat. The soldiers fed it condensed milk and named it Wojtek, meaning 'smiling warrior.' Thus, it made its home in the military camp. It moved with the company from the Middle East to Italy, learning to wrestle, drink beer, smoke cigarettes, and even salute. It ate and lived with the soldiers, fully integrating into camp life. In 1944, when the unit boarded a ship in Egypt, the commander refused to allow animals on board. Unwilling to abandon it, the soldiers had it officially enlist. Wojtek was awarded the rank of Private, assigned to the 22nd Transport Company, becoming the only combat bear to officially enlist. During the Battle of Monte Cassino, this brown bear, weighing over 200 kg, calmly carried ammunition crates under artillery fire, never dropping a single one. Afterward, the company's emblem was changed to a bear holding an ammunition crate. Did it really smoke and drink? It did drink beer, but sometimes the bottles contained water. Smoking is more accurately described as 'eating cigarettes'; it would take a lit cigarette, take a puff, and swallow it. These behaviors stemmed from being raised by soldiers from a young age, wanting to belong to the group, and thinking it was one of them. After the war, it was stationed in Scotland with the unit. In 1947, when the unit was disbanded, it was sent to the Edinburgh Zoo, where it died in 1963. It was unaccustomed to being with its own kind but would wave to visitors who greeted it in Polish. Today, statues stand in Warsaw, Edinburgh, and Cassino, and both Poland and Scotland have issued commemorative stamps, honoring the bear warrior who fought for Poland without ever setting foot on Polish soil. What a sentient bear 😮

Pedestrian jaywalking identified as primary cause, motorcyclist found not guilty due to insufficient reaction time
Last July, a man surnamed Zhang was riding his motorcycle on Wuxun Street when he collided with a woman surnamed Peng who suddenly crossed the road. Ms. Peng sustained severe head injuries and passed away after being taken to the hospital. Prosecutors indicted Mr. Zhang for negligent homicide, but the Keelung District Court acquitted him. The verdict can still be appealed. The judge reviewed surveillance footage and found that it took only about 2 seconds from the moment Ms. Peng stepped out to the collision. After examining the surveillance footage in court, it was confirmed that Mr. Zhang's speed was approximately 42 kilometers per hour, which is not speeding. The verdict stated that it takes at least 3 seconds or more for a driver to stop completely after noticing a situation, and in this case, there was insufficient reaction time and distance to avoid the accident. The court reasoned that although drivers have a duty to pay attention to the road ahead, Mr. Zhang was driving normally in his lane and could not have foreseen Ms. Peng suddenly crossing. He did not have enough time to evade before the collision, so negligence could not be determined solely based on the fatal outcome. The review committee determined that Ms. Peng's sudden crossing without checking for oncoming traffic was the primary cause of the accident, and Mr. Zhang had no causal factors. The judge acknowledged that Ms. Peng's death is regrettable, but criminal responsibility must be determined based on evidence. The prosecution's evidence was insufficient to prove Mr. Zhang's negligence, and he was acquitted based on the principle that doubt benefits the defendant. The court also emphasized that drivers trust other road users to obey traffic rules, and they should not be blamed if there is insufficient reaction time. The judge stressed that the key in this case was the lack of reaction time, not the driver's inattention. The prosecution stated that they will review whether to appeal the case. I'm siding with the judge on this one. If the motorcyclist wasn't running a red light, then I don't think the rider should be punished. The pedestrian's issue is much bigger! This judge has common sense! Why is the headline saying 'not guilty' with a '?!' after it? I have questions about your headline logic🙄🙄🙄

Weird Days Part 5 〈Employee Trip Lighting & Sound Crew〉
Employee trips are my most hated activity over the past 8 years. Arranging the itinerary, finding drivers, seeking sponsor donations, preparing supplies, etc., etc... The most bizarre part is having to find guests to participate. Because the weird boss wants to skim some subsidies from the guests 😏 Besides the part about finding guests, which differs from a typical company, we also have to bring lighting, sound equipment, and parasols. It's like throwing a big party on any random beach. Sounds fun, right? But the heavy bass speakers and sound system are super heavy. And we have to bring a bunch of weird rotating lights too 🙄 Parents bringing their kids to the beach would be terrified seeing this.

Partly Cloudy
Yesterday, I went to a cat exhibition in Nangang with a friend. Saw so many cats walking around and munching together, my eyes felt so refreshed! 🤣 Glad it's not the peak of summer anymore. It's still hot, but within a tolerable range. But it seems like I should have gone today? Today feels a bit less hot, huh! 🤣 In the evening, I accompanied them to the Snoopy store. The quality and design of some items were really good. Luckily, I'm not a Snoopy fan 🤣🤣🤣 Finally, before checking out, I successfully helped my friend overcome their indecisiveness and the 'I want one of everything' dilemma hahaahahah
