• Sea and Land Alerts: The Central Weather Administration issued a sea alert yesterday (Oct 21) evening, with a land alert expected as early as this afternoon (Oct 22) to evening. • Flight Changes: China Airlines, Tigerair Taiwan, and Starlux Airlines have canceled or rescheduled multiple flights to and from Okinawa for today. • Suspended Work and Classes: Taipei, New Taipei City, Keelung, and Taoyuan are expected to announce simultaneously at 8 PM tonight whether they meet the standard for suspending work and classes on Friday (Oct 23).

Typhoon Bavi may issue a maritime typhoon warning as early as tonight (21st). A weather fan page pointed out that it has become the strongest typhoon of the year and urged the public to be prepared for the typhoon.

This typhoon has a solid structure, it looks good. But I remember the last typhoon that looked like this collapsed when it got close to Taiwan. ㄧ ㄊㄨㄛˊ

Super Typhoon Changbi is currently moving gradually towards Taiwan. However, it's expected to weaken to a moderate typhoon. And after path adjustments, the probability of landfall has decreased. Friends in the eastern and northern regions may still be affected by the storm's eyewall. Others should be cautious of strong gusts. Currently, the north and east seem most likely to get a holiday. Super Typhoon Champi continues to intensify and has completed its eyewall replacement, expanding its wind field. It is currently forecast to move northward along Taiwan's eastern waters, with the most significant impact expected from Friday to Saturday. The probability of gale-force winds affecting areas like Taipei, New Taipei City, Keelung, Yilan, and Hualien has already exceeded 50%.

Super typhoon 'Qiangbi' has reached its peak intensity, and the weather agency does not rule out issuing sea/land warnings around Thursday. The current predicted path is westward, turning north just before reaching Taiwan, which will be influenced by future high-pressure systems. If the high-pressure system is strong, the typhoon might continue westward or even make landfall in Taiwan; conversely, if the high-pressure system is weak, the typhoon may turn north earlier, reducing its impact on Taiwan. Due to the earlier northward turn, there's a higher chance of school closures in eastern and northern areas (Friday). Still need to prepare well for the typhoon. If there's a typhoon holiday on Friday, it could form a four-day long weekend with Restoration Day. So, I'm looking forward to it.

A tropical depression near Guam is forecast to strengthen into Typhoon 'Bari' today. The weather agency predicts it will intensify around the weekend and turn northward early next week, with current assessments indicating minimal impact on Taiwan's weather.
