Magic Chess

Is anyone else tired of the meta shifting to Magic Chess in ranked and normal matches? While the strong comps are monotonous and the 6-cost Mage is overtuned, I've tried different lineups and wanted to share some personal favorites. This post introduces synergy terms (including some personal insights). The next post will introduce each synergy combination. Major Synergies: Picking 2 out of 3 makes it hard to lose. Orc: Snow White Fairytale If building 4 Orcs, Fenik can be swapped out later. Use Burton with caution; poor positioning can make him a liability. If facing wide-area skills like Maloch or Ginn, proper placement makes him very strong. Berserker: Berserker If building 4 Berserkers, Emily can be swapped out later. Berserker characters are often high-cost, so assembling them requires early-game transition characters. Support: Just Support 4 Support's global invulnerability + healing is definitely strong. Combining with Orcs, Demigods, etc., to stall is very effective. Minor Synergies (Use with Major Synergies): Demigod: Oracle's Voice Lorr + Tulen are very versatile. They can support big-skill characters or carry in a Support-heavy lineup. 2 Demigods are enough. In the late game, Tulen can be replaced by Lumia. Brian is just trash. Attack Speed: Symphony Commonly use Locke + Carano. Global attack speed boost pairs well with Berserkers. Demon Hunter: Just Demon Hunter Use when facing a lot of magic attack comps. 6-Cost Mage: Just strong. Overlooked Major Synergies: Fallen: Just Fallen Personally, I find Fallen a bit difficult to use. Characters are too high-cost, require many energy items, and their ceiling is unclear. Assassin: Just Assassin Decent in the mid-game, but tends to be weak in the late game when clashing with full major synergies. Saint: Same as Assassin. Recommended Early Game Transition Characters: Fennik/Loren/Omega/Raz Strong Even Without Synergies: Anette/Maloch/Carano
