Small Truck 'Disguised as Taipower Vehicle' Roams Taipei/New Taipei, Runs Red Lights with Siren; Sanxia Police Issue Fines

A netizen posted on social media about a small truck suspected of being disguised as a Taipower (Taiwan Power Company) engineering vehicle, accusing the driver of frequently tailgating, running red lights in Taipei and New Taipei, and even illegally using the shoulder of the highway with its siren. The Sanxia Police Precinct stated today (18th) that they have previously investigated the driver for multiple violations under public endangerment charges and have notified the Motor Vehicles Office to inspect the vehicle. The violations mentioned by the netizen will be separately fined and legally reported. (Provided by Sanxia Police Precinct) Many netizens have repeatedly reported on social media platforms like Facebook that the vehicle, painted with slogans like 'Power Engineering Vehicle' and 'Report power theft, call 1911,' appears to be disguised as a Taipower engineering vehicle. They claim the driver intentionally recessed the license plate to obstruct reporting, illegally installed warning lights and a siren, repeatedly ran red lights, and used the highway shoulder with the siren. Despite being a habitual dangerous driver, the owner is reportedly just a private electrical contractor, not a vehicle with official duties.
