Novel - West Exit Jade Gate (Author: Yu Yu)

Genre: Supernatural, Suspense Adventure Protagonists: Ye Liuxi, Chang Dong Supporting Characters: Gao Shen, Ding Liu, Fei Tang, etc. Author's Synopsis: Some say the ancient city of yellow earth you vaguely see in the midnight sandstorm is actually the ghost of Jade Gate Pass. Story Synopsis: An accident caused Chang Dong's personality to change drastically. He lived incognito Until Ye Liuxi, bold but amnesiac, found him. With just one photo, he willingly Stepped back into Jade Gate Pass. A group of people search for the truth they desire in the yellow earth world. Review: Yu Yu is truly amazing. She excels at describing scenery, making it feel immersive. The plot is very tight. Compared to her other work, 'Resentful Bell', It has less horror and more suspense. You'll want to know what happened to the male and female leads, And what will happen to the supporting characters. You'll keep wanting to read on. It leaves you wanting more. I feel the romance between the main couple isn't forced at all. There's chemistry in their interactions, yet it feels natural and earned. More than anything, the author combines history to depict a Fantasy desert world. It includes portrayals of human nature and the impermanence of worldly affairs. This novel has also been adapted into a TV drama, Which I also recommend.
