Archbishop Lupesius

This scene is from the biggest annual ritual ceremony of the Shami Cult. The location is the main hall of the Holy Light Cathedral. See that giant, golden, sun-crowned statue behind? That's the deified effigy of "Shami." It usually keeps its eyes closed, only opening them on this day. The figure on the stage is "Archbishop Lupesius." She wears a bishop's robe with gold patterns on a black background and holds a crozier with a holy emblem. Don't be fooled by her somewhat intimidating appearance; she is the closest person to "God" in the church right now. Below the stage, it's packed with a sea of followers of all races. You'll see some holding small purple flags with a "Grinning Face" on them – that's the old flag of the "Old District." The flag has long been retired, but some old members insisted on bringing it out; they're basically just here for the fun. This very moment captured on screen is when Lupesius finishes the prayer, points her hand towards the entire congregation, and declares, "The God has heard." As she points, all the flags in the hall are raised, purple paper flowers are shot out, all the gems of Alida tremble, and even the eyes of the great Shami behind them light up. For the people of Alida, this is called a miracle.
