Thailand Impressions
The Thai phrase 'สวัสดีค่ะ' (Sawatdee ka, transliterated: Sawadee ka) is the female way of saying hello, with a rising long tone at the end: 'ค่ะ' (ka). 'สวัสดีครับ' (Sawatdee krab, transliterated: Sawadee krab) is the male way of saying hello, with a short ending: 'ครับ' (krab). Be aware that if a man mistakenly uses the female 'สวัสดีค่ะ', he might be mistaken for a transgender person in Thailand?!

Ah, so this is Thailand's unique 'Wai' greeting. Uncle Ronald is really adapting to the local customs. The way they distinguish verb endings based on gender is quite intricate. Thanks for sharing such interesting linguistic knowledge.
