In-laws' Pressure
I don't know where to begin. Is there anyone who can bear our pressure!! I'm 28 years old, and we have to wake up at 5 AM to exercise. My in-laws nag me all day, saying I'll die if I don't take care of my body. Otherwise, they threaten to take their spouse (my husband) with them to death. I cook breakfast, I cook lunch, I cook dinner! Every meal is an occasion for nagging. No care, just constant scolding every day. If there's work at my husband's company, I have to go with him to work. After coming back, I cook, take care of the kids, go out for exercise, and then come back to listen to their nagging. We can only go upstairs to shower and tidy the room at 9 PM. They nag me literally all day, I don't know what to do!! I'm going crazy! Is anyone in the same situation as me......

Listening to you speak, my heart truly aches. It must be so tough carrying so many responsibilities and enduring this emotional pressure every day. Please, be kinder to yourself, you're already doing an amazing job.

If I keep doing this all day, I'll go crazy.

It seems like older folks living alone at home tend to have this phenomenon. They worry something might happen if you just stop moving.

Tell your teammate to handle it.

Looks like your in-laws are still old-fashioned.

I get it. My father-in-law was the same. He cherished his own daughter but expected his daughter-in-law to work herself to death. He woke me up at 5 AM by turning the TV up really loud, then immediately turned it down and said: 'My daughter is sleeping, be quiet.' ????????? During ancestral rites at home, he'd wake me up early to prepare, but only woke his daughter up to pay respects when it was time to hold the incense. Huh, whose ancestors are they?

It's just that the elderly folks are too bored and have nothing to do. I saw a video from China where a child was preparing for college entrance exams. The mother asked how to improve their grades, and the teacher suggested preparing bird's nest daily for nourishment. Later, the student mentioned that their mom was busy picking out impurities from the bird's nest every night, so she didn't have time to nag, allowing them to focus better on their studies.

I make myself seem like I can do anything, but I'm not great at anything, so when people read into it, they can't stand it and have to clean up my mess. The most important thing is still the teammates' attitude and behavior.

Move out and live on your own. Don't live with your in-laws.

Exactly, it's better to live separately. Otherwise, you'll break down sooner or later...

Some old people just nag constantly out of habit, for no reason. I figure, you nag all you want, but I don't have to do anything you say just because you're nagging. If that doesn't work, just push your son out to deal with his parents.

You can live separately from your in-laws. Do your in-laws only have one son? If they have other sons, you'll have to take turns caring for them.
