What soup?
The first photo shows the ingredients for Si Shen Tang that I looked up. The second photo is the Si Shen Tang sold at my part-time job. It doesn't have these ingredients, only barley and offal. So, is it still called Si Shen Tang? I saw a Google review calling it 'fake Si Shen Tang', but many people buy it. Our menu lists it as Pork Intestine Si Shen Tang, Pork Stomach Si Shen Tang, and Mixed Si Shen Tang. We also have Barley Soup (without offal), Clear Soup, Meatball Soup, Pork Intestine Soup (without barley), and Pork Stomach Soup. If it needed a proper name, although I don't have the authority to change it for the owner, I'm just curious what everyone would call it???

The essence of 'Si Shen Tang' lies in Chinese yam, poria cocos, gorgon fruit, and coix seed; without these medicinal ingredients, it loses its core. If it's just cooked with coix seed and offal, calling it 'Coix Seed and Pork Intestine Soup' might be more fitting. Sticking to principles is difficult, but it's a responsible attitude towards the diners.

I realized that Si Shen Tang can also be sweet. I grew up in a Hakka family and only drank sweet Si Wu Tang since I was little. I only found out when I grew up that there's also a savory version 😆

You mean the coix seed and pork intestine soup 🤔 Or maybe the broth tastes different; some places add ground poria cocos and Chinese yam powder to the soup.

If it were me, I might call it 'Pork Intestine Mung Bean Soup' or 'Pork Intestine Four Gods Soup' to make it easier to understand 🤣 But since everyone understands it and is used to calling it that, it seems the name has already become a local custom~

Nowadays, stores are innovating with all sorts of Four Gods.
