Heh, I got a scam email too~ Even though the amount wasn't big 🙃
I received a phishing email impersonating Far Eastern e-Tag (see image). Titled 'Account Direct Debit Operation Incomplete,' it falsely claimed a 120 NTD parking fee payment failed and was overdue, providing a fake link to lure clicks. I deleted it immediately because it didn't specify my license plate number, but I wanted to share a heads-up~ Far Eastern e-Tag has repeatedly warned: any eTag or parking fee notifications that do not clearly state your complete 'license plate number' are scams. Scammers often use 'small overdue amounts' and 'delays' to create panic, guiding people to fake webpages to enter their credit card details. When facing such suspicious messages, be sure to follow these four self-protection steps: 1. Delete Directly: If you receive a notification without a license plate number, delete it immediately. Never click any links or reply. 2. Official Check: Download the official 'ETC App' or 'uTagGo App' on your phone and check your actual parking and toll records. 3. Customer Service Verification: Call Far Eastern e-Tag's 24-hour customer service at (02)7716-1998, or add their official LINE account '@etag' for confirmation. 4. Immediate Help: If you've clicked a link or entered personal information or credit card numbers, immediately call the 165 anti-fraud hotline and report your credit card lost to your issuing bank. By the way, I also received a notification about winning the lottery before, but since it didn't include the receipt number, I foolishly opened my Ministry of Finance's Uniform Invoice App to check. Only after checking did I suddenly realize it was a scam email. I felt so stupid 🤣🤣 Be careful if you receive one and don't get scammed~

Scam methods are diverse, and with the advent of AI, they've become more sophisticated. You just have to verify more.

There are still clues. The sender's email shows 'mailo', which isn't a typical email suffix, so it can be distinguished. However, most people don't know this, so if you receive a similar message, it's best to call the company directly to inquire.
