First off, I started looking up guides only after hitting a wall. I trained some weird characters earlier because I just didn't know any better. This is an account I quit playing a few months after starting. I think I quit right after clearing the event for the 'Yu' version. Back then, I wondered why I hit roadblocks everywhere as a new player. I couldn't clear the main story, didn't have enough character resources, and couldn't auto-farm materials by borrowing characters. Later, even when I looked up guides, I was stuck again because I lacked the resources to train the recommended characters. Now that I'm playing 'Endfield' (終末地), I felt like coming back to check on it. Plus, my two friends both think my account is still playable. So, I've come to ask on different platforms. What's the future path for this account?

Overall, it's best to focus on perfecting your infrastructure first. Most of your EXP books and LMD come from infrastructure production. Once that's set up, you can relax and just farm materials when events start. As for characters, I recommend E2ing Saria first and using her skill 2, Magnesium Flow. Combined with Surtr's skill 3, Twilight, you can solo-kill about 80% of early-game bosses. For others, just train characters you like, and you'll naturally figure out when they can be useful. However, you might say you can't E2 6-star units due to lack of materials. In that case, I suggest E2ing 4-star units to max level, like Silverash, Meteorite, and Amiya. They were my go-to 4-star powerhouses early on. That's my advice for now. Wishing you a fun time playing Arknights! ^^
