First Online Friend

A few years ago, when I first used a dating app, I met a girl. We chatted for a solid year and a half, but our relationship only stayed at the level of online friends. The reason was that when we first met, she said she would leave if she found out I liked her. What a strange person. Isn't the point of using a dating app to make friends?
