Someone asked Buddha: What kind of life is considered complete? Buddha smiled and pointed to a falling leaf – “See? When it was on the tree, it was vibrantly green; when the wind came, it fell beautifully. It has no regrets because it lived as it was meant to live. Completeness isn't about how long you lived, but whether you lived authentically. It's not about how many people send you off when you leave, but how many people were warmed by you while you were alive. Living well when you are alive doesn't mean you have to be spectacular. It means eating well when you eat, walking properly when you walk, loving fully when you love, and immersing yourself when you work. Laugh when it's time to laugh, cry when it's time to cry, let go when it's time to let go. Don't wrong yourself, don't mistreat others, and don't waste your time. Leaving quietly when you depart doesn't mean being cold or heartless. It means being able to let go peacefully when the time comes. Without struggling, without fear, without attachment. Like a falling leaf returning to its roots, like the sun setting in the west, quietly completing this journey. You don't need to become a great figure; you just need to be true to yourself every day you live. You don't need to conquer death; you just need to have no regrets while you are alive. Today, live your day well. Do what needs to be done; say what needs to be said; love the people you need to love. And when night falls, rest peacefully. May you be as brilliant as summer flowers when you live, and as beautiful as autumn leaves when you depart. This is completeness.
