The band name 'Collage' is inspired by the French word for 'collage,' a special technique of attaching various materials (including magazines, newspapers, ribbons, paper scraps, photos, or other objects) to a surface using adhesives. It symbolizes how Collage incorporates diverse musical styles and instrumental elements into their songs. Their lyrics often blend Taiwanese, Indigenous (Amis), Japanese, and English languages, creating a musical 'collage.' To pursue specific pronunciations or usages, they have also revised or re-recorded earlier songs multiple times. Full respect. I was initially quite struck by a short passage in the lyrics, '共你的記持啊…南無觀世音菩薩' (referencing official lyrics), interpreted with a chanting-like vocal style, which, combined with the lyrical context, was quite impactful. For the context, please refer to Zhu You-Xun's lyric analysis (see Lyric Analysis). As there's a professional and detailed analysis available, I won't elaborate further.
