The Charm of Old Songs is Truly Irreplaceable
Chang Yu-Sheng's (張雨生) 'The Great Sea' (大海) is a song you can listen to a hundred times without getting tired. It's not just popular now that it sounds good; even after all these years, it's still enjoyable to listen to. Classics are classics for a reason. https://youtu.be/u1DCBy2ViW8?si=szov261dc6P_GweS

Kenshi Yonezu - IRIS OUT
Performer: Kenshi Yonezu Song Title: IRIS OUT Lyrics/Composition: Kenshi Yonezu Release Date: September 15, 2025 Album: IRIS OUT Lyrics Translation: https://www.marumaru-x.com/japanese-song/play-g9r057q2nv Recommended Listen: https://youtu.be/LmZD-TU96q4 Special recommendation in celebration of someone's debut. This song is the theme song tailor-made by Kenshi Yonezu for the animated film "Chainsaw Man: The Movie - The Reze Arc" (劇場版『チェンソーマン レゼ篇』), following his previous work "KICK BACK." The title "IRIS OUT" is inspired by the filmmaking term "iris out," which refers to the effect where the screen gradually darkens and contracts into a circle until it disappears into black (the image shrinks into a circular black screen). This signifies the bond and emotional turning points between Denji and Reze in the Chainsaw Man story. The song continues the sense of speed and rhythm consistently found in Kenshi Yonezu's "Chainsaw Man" related musical works. His explosive yet delicate vocals shift between wild rock and lyrical atmospheres. Upon its single release, it caused a sensation alongside the animated film, quickly becoming one of the iconic representative works of recent anime music. To date, it has garnered 230 million views on YouTube, and Kenshi Yonezu performed this song at the 76th Kohaku Uta Gassen, with that performance alone exceeding thirty million views.

5 Seconds of Summer - Teeth
Highly recommend 5 Seconds of Summer's soul-shattering dark anthem 〈Teeth〉! As soon as that heavy, industrial metal-esque bass drops, paired with the vocalist's aggressively explosive high notes, you'll instantly feel like you've been sucked into a crazy cop-chase scene.

Glossy Emptiness
This song isn't just high-pitched; it sounds heartbreakingly beautiful. It's also comfortable to sing for those with skill, reaching up to E5 with falsetto.

Nostalgic Anime Songs Part 32, Marmalade Boy OP - Daikirai
Marmalade Boy OP - Daikirai It's a bit of a shame I couldn't find the ending theme from when it aired 😑 Thinking back now, was Marmalade Boy the first anime to feature a pet as the main character? 🤔

Sabrina Carpenter - 〈Espresso〉
As soon as the retro-chic disco funk rhythm kicks in, paired with her sweet yet sassy, confident, and slightly haughty vocals, it feels as refreshing as sipping an iced coffee on Miami Beach. The lyrics say, "Now he's thinkin' 'bout me every night, oh," directly maxing out the charm that makes you fall head over heels. You'll feel so good after listening, you'll want to sway along!

Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence - Ryuichi Sakamoto and Recent Updates
This is a classic piece by Ryuichi Sakamoto. Many of you might have heard it without knowing the name. The Chinese title translates to 'Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence'. I started Christmas preparations at the end of September and dove headfirst into a paperwork hell in October. Although Christmas is at the end of December, for my work, I have to finalize the event flow starting from September. October is when I must complete venue applications, equipment rentals, performer confirmations, and so on. November is mostly about each department preparing on their own, so it's actually a bit more relaxed (but I still have to rehearse Christmas songs and plays, oh my goodness!). As for December, for as long as I can remember, I've always been as busy as a spinning top before Christmas. This is because Christmas is the most important day of the year for us, and I've always been one to spend Christmas on stage since I can remember, oh my god. Special thanks to Assam.91 for their great help in creating the playlist. Thank you to everyone who continues to share here during this time, and thank you to myself for being able to at least maintain the function of giving myself small rewards (?).

"Song Recommendation Zone" Completion Project
Given that West Frontier is maintaining the board and also working hard to update the song list... I've compiled all the music posted in the "Song Recommendation Zone" up to today into playlists. I will continue to update them in the future. However, the compilation process is quite tedious, so please try to include YouTube links when recommending music. This will make the process smoother and also show responsibility for your own recommendations. Tanya Chua's 'Falling' and Harlem Yu's 'Can't Help Falling In Love' (Original Title: 情非得已)
These two songs are really great. 'Falling' is a newer song, and 'Can't Help Falling In Love' is a classic oldie (Golden Melody 😍). 'Falling' is perfect for listening and singing when you're feeling emo, while 'Can't Help Falling In Love' makes you feel more relaxed and happy the more you listen. But it's no use listening to 'Falling' when you're emo, it's best enjoyed when you're in a good mood.

Clap Song (Bunun language Kipahpah Ima) - Original Voice Choir
I first encountered this song through the movie "Hearing the Song" which tells the story of a choir of indigenous children. A very heartwarming and touching movie💖 I was deeply impressed by this song. The melody is cheerful and the lyrics are simple and clear🎧 Even if you don't know the Bunun language, you can easily sing along just by listening to the song🎤 Combined with the pure and natural singing of the children, it's incredibly infectious🥰 There are many moving videos of the Clap Song: 🎬Movie "Seeing Taiwan" - Chi Po-lin (The choir singing on Yushan, Yushan is beautiful) https://youtu.be/QPIQ7imbbG4?si=qjEB6WupFLcF8878 📽️Movie "Hearing the Song" https://youtu.be/lHNekLZWEFs?si=qkK06GpuWyIRN_Sy Personally, I love the live performance version from St. Peter's Basilica in Vienna. The live performance is very captivating, and the resonance of the cathedral is magnificent, which further enhances the vastness of the eight-part harmony. ✨About the Song This piece was popularized by the "Taiwan Children's Choir" (conducted by Principal Ma Peter). In the Bunun language, "Kipahpah" symbolizes the action of clapping, and "Ima" means hand, thus "Clap Song." It was originally composed by Bunun elders and creators, primarily as a joyful song for welcoming guests, gatherings, and exchanges. The core of its creation revolves around the Bunun people's cherish for "coming together."
