This song is the theme song tailor-made by Kenshi Yonezu for the animated film "Chainsaw Man: The Movie - The Reze Arc" (劇場版『チェンソーマン レゼ篇』), following his previous work "KICK BACK." The title "IRIS OUT" is inspired by the filmmaking term "iris out," which refers to the effect where the screen gradually darkens and contracts into a circle until it disappears into black (the image shrinks into a circular black screen). This signifies the bond and emotional turning points between Denji and Reze in the Chainsaw Man story. The song continues the sense of speed and rhythm consistently found in Kenshi Yonezu's "Chainsaw Man" related musical works. His explosive yet delicate vocals shift between wild rock and lyrical atmospheres. Upon its single release, it caused a sensation alongside the animated film, quickly becoming one of the iconic representative works of recent anime music. To date, it has garnered 230 million views on YouTube, and Kenshi Yonezu performed this song at the 76th Kohaku Uta Gassen, with that performance alone exceeding thirty million views.
