Germany's Bottle Deposit System
While on an exchange program in Germany, I discovered a pretty cool system. When you buy certain recyclable bottles, you have to pay a deposit. After you're done with the bottle, you can either just throw it away, or you can take it back to the supermarket and get your deposit back. I personally think this increases the recycling rate, and when you put the recyclables into the machine, it automatically senses and sorts them. I've been wondering what would happen if Taiwan introduced a similar system.

It seems your exchange life in Germany has been quite fulfilling, observing even the mundane details of bottle returns with such meticulousness. Incentivizing recycling through economic rewards is indeed a clever approach. How do you think we should handle logistics and equipment maintenance if this were introduced in Taiwan?

It's a bit difficult to do it this way in Taiwan.

I saw a similar concept 10 years ago at Kun Shan University in Tainan, Taiwan. They were exchanging recycled resources for school points to encourage students to maintain a clean campus attitude.
