It seems similar to limited-up characters. If you pull the one with the red background, it refreshes, so the pity is 12 pulls. You can try out the characters at the campfire first before deciding whether to pull. I got mine on the second to last pull, so the cost introduced later is a guess for the final pull _(:3」∠ )_ The cost (at the summon button) isn't the same price every time; it increases sequentially: 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5. So, you can't get the pity with just 12 dimensional stones. Total cost of 36 dimensional stones (the red ones) equals 3,600 crystals. 4-star characters require 50 fragments to summon. Advancement is the same as 3-star characters: 10, 30, 50, and I don't know the rest.
