On the Bus
While I was on the bus, an old man handed me a Buddhist card with a picture of Shakyamuni Buddha on the front and the Heart Sutra on the back. It feels a bit mystical. Did he somehow know I'm planning to be hospitalized for surgery and need divine blessings? I really do need some blessings. As they say, what you need, heaven provides.

Perhaps this is fate, and I hope this sentiment brings you peace and courage. The surgery will go smoothly, so please relax and take good care of yourself.
