Perfume - Spice

Performer: Perfume Song Title: Spice Lyrics/Composition: Yasutaka Nakata Release Date: November 2, 2011 Included Single: Spice Lyrics Translation: https://www.marumaru-x.com/japanese-song/play-wdr65qgn35 Reference: [Playio] Sakanaction - Kaiju https://link.playio.co/fnxl093 Previously, when introducing 'Kaiju,' I mentioned it describes humanity's desire for truth and curiosity. Perfume's 'Spice' is the theme song for the drama 'Professional Housewife Detective ~I am the Shadow~' (専業主婦探偵〜私はシャドウ), starring Kyoko Fukada. This marks the first time a Perfume song was chosen as a drama theme song. Producer Yasutaka Nakata experimented by incorporating the shamisen into an electronic music style for the first time, adding a fresh touch to Perfume's work. The lyrics repeatedly ask, 'Maybe it's better not to know' (知らないほうが いいのかもね), yet liken curiosity to 'spice' (スパイス), which can stimulate and create unexpected thrills, perfectly echoing the drama's plot. Additionally, the scene in the music video where the Perfume members transform after eating candy is also an Easter egg related to the protagonist, Serina Asagi (Kyoko Fukada). Although they are currently on hiatus, I look forward to their return.
