[Discussion] Since the scriptwriter reads the comments, should we only praise?
Previous context: In my last post, I mentioned we had a fight, and I voluntarily left the group on October 1st, 2026. Although the moderator later posted a new rule of over 400 characters, stating it was a final chance, I was declared 'broken up with' and removed as a friend before I could refuse. The core of the new rule is that because 'Old Dog Leaves Teacher' (老狗離老師) reads the official comment section, negative reviews (including critiques of the plot and character actions) are forbidden. Only praise is allowed! If you can't praise, just watch the drama quietly and don't leave comments carelessly! I read this and got a headache. I'm someone who loves to comment. It's hard for me not to offer my thoughts or criticize the plot when something feels off, but I don't think I'm mindlessly bashing a show. Example --- Mindless bashing: The character models in this show are so ugly! I don't want to watch their stories, why aren't xx and yy a couple? The story is terrible, just end it already! My critique: qqq, how could you do that to sss (forced romance plot), poor sss (imprisoned), uuu, you were such a jerk six years ago! No wonder your wife won't forgive you! (explaining past plot points) Am I really criticizing harshly? Would the scriptwriter be unable to handle it? (After all, they're like their own children.) But isn't a drama's popularity often built starting from the comments? I'm a bit lost. The 'breakup' message was quite harsh (we've been chatting since July, so there was some emotional investment). I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on commenting (if you're the type not to comment, no need to reply), thank you.

Getting upset over a character's situation is proof that you truly love the work. ❤ Rules that force you to only praise are so boring; this passion should be cherished. ♡ Don't let this affect your mood, it's more important to keep exploring the gangster themes you like.

The comment you gave as an example is pretty normal, right? To me, it doesn't seem like a negative review at all, but I'm not sure how people from mainland China would see it. Personally, if the author were to see it, I'd probably just praise them, and express other thoughts elsewhere. But I wouldn't think it's wrong for others to leave comments like that. I think if it's over, it's over. You guys were just fellow enthusiasts chatting together for about three months, you can't even call yourselves friends. If you get along, great; if not, move on.
