The story begins with high school student Anhai-san living on the remote island of Izuo. He loves manga artist ☆No0's manga "Robot-ta and Tanuki-ta" the most, and due to a certain trigger, he starts to have the idea of "creating." Anhai embarks on his manga creation journey, from finding an advisor and recruiting members to establishing the "Ojima South High School Manga Research Club." By the way, if you're familiar with "One-Punch Man" (ワンパンマン), you might get a similar vibe to ONE x Yusuke Murata. The timeline interweaves the past of manga artist ☆No0 with the present of Anhai, who loves his work, depicting the mutual influence and salvation between creators and readers. It portrays the manga industry from multiple perspectives. There are also easter eggs designed for anime fans. The description in the ending theme song's lyrics, when viewed with episode 8, will give you a different feeling about the song. The title, "Draw This Before I Die," refers to a manga artist burning their soul to the extreme, pouring themselves into creation without holding back. It also represents the dark side of professional manga: if inspiration is lost, one faces the end of their career. This starkly contrasts with Teacher Tejima's requirement for the manga club: "Create within the scope of your hobby." Just like the famous quote from the popular manga artist Hebi-chika (へびちか) in the series: "Whatever it is, 90% of the world is trash."
