Info Share | "The Case Files of Bookworm" to Premiere in April 2027

"The Case Files of Bookworm" has been confirmed for a TV anime adaptation, set to air in April 2027, with animation produced by CloverWorks. The story is set in an old bookstore called "Koshodo" in Kamakura. Shiokawa Shioriko, a young owner who is not good at socializing but possesses extensive knowledge of old books, meets Itsura Daisuke, a young man who, due to past experiences, cannot read books but yearns for them. Daisuke brings an old book left by his grandmother to the Koshodo, and Shioriko gradually unravels the secrets hidden within, solely based on the clues left in the book. From then on, the two begin to encounter various mysteries related to old books and their owners. This work is akin to a "mystery story about immortal people," with Shioriko acting as an armchair detective, deducing the people and stories behind them through clues left in each old book. I find this setup quite interesting 😆 Moreover, the main characters are a 25-year-old female owner and a 23-year-old male employee, and their relationship will develop slowly as the story progresses; they are clearly the official couple! Old books + everyday mysteries + a developing romance between the male and female leads – based on the information I've gathered so far, it seems right up my alley. Looking forward to it!
