Binge-Watching Now｜《The Villainess is a Marionette》

Adapted from the web novel of the same name, the manhwa has concluded with a total of 111 chapters. It was previously serialized on KAKAO WEBTOON but stopped due to the platform's service termination in Taiwan. It has now been re-released on LINE WEBTOON. I've read this before, but I was following many series at the time, so I think I only read the first few chapters 🤔 Recently, I heard it's switching to a 'completed chapters unlock' mode on October 16th, so I decided to pick it up again while it's still free. I've read about half of it so far, and it's been a smooth read 😁 The female lead, an office worker, strongly resonated with the villainess empress Kayena, who was manipulated and met a tragic end in the novel she was reading. Unexpectedly, after her death, she becomes Kayena and regains her memories – she was originally Kayena, died in her past life, reincarnated in modern times, and has now returned before her tragedy unfolded. Having lived two lives and read a novel detailing this world's future, Kayena is no longer a mere pawn empress to be controlled. She decides to use the information she possesses to gradually change her predetermined fate. In the early parts, there was a bit of an awkward phase where 'everyone was surprised Kayena suddenly became smart, but I didn't feel how smart she was yet' 🤣 However, as the plot progresses, her schemes and judgments truly start to show, and that feeling diminishes significantly. I don't find the protagonist annoying so far, and the art is incredibly gorgeous, making each chapter fly by. Also, the big dog is cute, and my biggest motivation right now is to see Kayena accept the 🐶 soon! 😆
