Talking about the anime 'Blue Period' 🎨🖌️

The original work is a manga by Tsubasa Yamaguchi, which began serialization in 2017 and is still ongoing. In 2021, it was adapted into a 12-episode TV anime. The author mentioned that the title 'Blue Period' was inspired by 'Art → Picasso → Blue Period,' and it also carries the meaning of 'youthful days.' The protagonist, Yaguchi Yatora, is academically gifted and good at socializing, living a seemingly fulfilling high school life, but he always feels an inner emptiness. One day, captivated by a painting, he finds something he truly wants to dedicate himself to for the first time and sets his sights on Tokyo University of the Arts. This series was recommended to me by a friend who used to love drawing. I read the manga first, and then watched the anime. Although I can't draw at all myself 🤣, Yatora's journey preparing for the art college entrance exams was incredibly tense to watch! The work delves into themes of talent, effort, and the struggles of creation. I also really enjoyed the interactions between Yatora and the other characters. Even though it's about art, it's not just for people who love drawing to relate to. It's like how someone who doesn't play sports can still enjoy a sports anime 😆 Looking back, I still love how this series portrays the feeling of 'finding what you truly want to do and striving towards it' 💪
