Character Profile: Hunter x Hunter's 'King Meruem' (Spoilers Included)

He constantly sought out masters of the board game 'Gungi' for duels, and those who lost were killed by his tail stinger. After defeating various strong opponents, the King encountered a blind girl, a master of 'Gungi.' The King could never defeat her, and slowly, he began to develop feelings for her. After his battle with the Hunter Association Chairman, he was hit by 'Rose.' His body continuously weakened, and in order to find Komugi one last time to play 'one final game' of Gungi, he didn't hesitate to bow his head to his enemies. During the battle with the Chairman, he even pursued the 'name' that the Queen had spoken of at the end. There's a very good explanation I heard before regarding this. The 'Ant' (蟻) in Meruem's name transformed into the 'Gi' (儀) from Gungi. It changed from the heartlessness of an 'insect' (蟲) to a humanized 'person' (人). In the end, the King and Komugi kept asking each other if they were still there, slowly walking towards death.
