Capy Neko Cafe Kichijoji is one of the few animal cafes in Tokyo where you can interact with both capybaras and cats simultaneously. It's located on the 2nd floor of the PLATANO building, about a 1-minute walk from the south exit of Kichijoji Station. The cafe's most distinctive feature is the heartwarming space it has created for capybaras and cats to coexist peacefully. Capybaras, the world's largest rodents, are gentle and friendly, enjoy being petted, and get along well with cats. Notably, most of the cats in the cafe are rescue cats, and a portion of the cafe's profits supports cat rescue activities, allowing customers to contribute to a good cause while enjoying a healing experience. Experiences are reservation-based, with around 4 groups per session to ensure quality interaction. The basic plan allows for 50 minutes of interaction with capybaras and cats. The Kichijoji branch charges 2,800 yen, with children under one year old admitted for free. Capybara or cat treats are an additional 550 yen. Please note that according to official announcements, starting August 1, 2026, the interaction time will be shortened from 50 minutes to 40 minutes to ensure the animals' well-being. Operating hours are from 10:00 to 20:00. Advance online booking is recommended, as walk-ins may be turned away due to capacity limits.
