This gentle and moving anime __ Natsume's Book of Friends🍃
Yuki Midorikawa's art style is very comfortable to look at. The lines are faint and not flashy. She's great at drawing rural scenery and the quiet appearance of yokai. Just the visuals make you feel relaxed. The story doesn't have intense fights; it's mostly about encounters and farewells. I'm currently on the third season. Sometimes after finishing an episode, I just sit quietly for a long time. Natsume was very lonely at first, but later met yokai and people who accepted him. Even when there are regrets, they aren't heart-wrenching blows, but a gentle tenderness.

The manga is also good. Yokai are long-lived beings, so after reading, you feel a faint sadness or a small happiness. It's like Pet Shop of Horrors.

This is awesome. It actually showed signs of wanting to go for a more mainstream manga style at one point, but thankfully they dropped it.

One of my favorite anime. I initially thought it leaned towards depressing, but Natsume's gentleness always touched my heart like a dragonfly skimming water. As I watched him gradually shake off the gloom, I felt myself becoming healed too.
