Ancient Chopstick Clatter

In ancient times, only homeless beggars would tap their rice bowls with chopsticks to make noise and attract the attention of passersby when begging. Therefore, tapping bowls or chopsticks at the dining table was considered 'beggar-like behavior' or 'begging manner,' and elders believed it was inauspicious, inviting poverty or financial loss.
