Adapted from the manga of the same name, "Kono Manga no Koibito ni Narimasu" by Yumi Gohata (original) and Yu Kamata (art), which is currently still being serialized. Yuki Uehara, a high school student who dreams of becoming a manga artist, submits his own romance manga but is criticized by the editor for his unrealistic portrayal of love due to his lack of dating experience. Just as he is deeply discouraged and considering giving up on his dream, his manuscript is accidentally seen by Hinata Miyamoto, the popular gal in his class! Unexpectedly, Hinata, who seems to have no connection with Yuki, also harbors a dream of becoming a manga artist! To draw a more realistic romance manga, Hinata surprisingly proposes they start dating!? Thus, the otaku and the gal, using manga creation as a catalyst, begin a simulated romance that starts for the sake of research! I think I saw an introduction to this manga on YouTube before, and the premise is quite interesting! However, after looking into the subsequent developments of the original work, it seems there's a love triangle, and the manga also has some fanservice scenes geared towards a male audience, which are elements I'm not particularly fond of. But the characters' setup and interactions feel quite cute, so I'll reserve judgment for now and see how it goes~
