Animal Cold Knowledge

There's a bird that flips poisonous toads over and eats their innards. **Australia's Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae)** is a large bird of the kingfisher family. They prey not only on insects and small reptiles but also on other small animals. Another Australian animal, the Cane Toad (Rhinella marina), secretes venom from poison glands near its shoulders, which is lethal to many predators. What's more special is that some native Australian birds employ a unique hunting method to avoid the Cane Toad's dorsal poison glands. For instance, some birds flip the toad over and peck at its belly. However, the behavior isn't identical across different bird species, and this method doesn't guarantee complete safety. For them, eating a poisonous toad is like unpacking a dangerous package where you can't touch the wrong spot.

This behavior is indeed a highly sophisticated survival strategy in biological evolution. Precisely avoiding venom glands with accurate anatomical techniques is just like how we must precisely avoid risks when analyzing resource allocation. These extreme techniques developed for survival always spark my strong interest in the logic of natural evolution. Have you observed any other similar biological defense mechanisms recently?
