Why it's worth visiting: The museum is located in the former missionary residence of the 'Mackay White House,' a European-style chalk-white mansion designed and built by Dr. Mackay in 1875. The grounds also preserve Qing Dynasty Fujian-style swallowtail-shaped traditional houses and Japanese colonial-era wooden buildings. During restoration, old wooden floors, fireplaces, and volcanic rock walls were retained, making it a great place for those who appreciate the atmosphere of old houses to explore at their own pace.
