An Umbrella on a Rainy Day
One day, an old man was walking in the rain and saw a young man standing under an eave, looking troubled because he didn't have an umbrella. The old man walked over and handed him the umbrella he was holding. The young man quickly declined, "What about you? It's raining so hard, you'll get wet too!" The old man smiled and said, "My home is just ahead, it's okay if I get a little wet. You seem to have a long way to go, so take this umbrella first." The young man took the umbrella, thanked him gratefully, and hurried away. Years later, this young man had become a doctor. One day, he met an elderly man with mobility issues at the hospital and voluntarily offered to help him. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be the same person who had lent him the umbrella that year. He immediately recognized the old man and said excitedly, "You might not remember me, but I have always kept that umbrella in my heart." The old man thought for a moment, then smiled and replied, "I had already forgotten about that small matter. It's good enough that you remembered and passed on that kindness to others." It turns out that kindness doesn't necessarily need to be repaid. It's more like a relay race in the rain. Someone once sheltered you from the rain, and later, you'll have the strength to hold up an umbrella for someone else. 🌱 Today's thought: You don't need to rush to return the kindness you received to the original giver; passing it on can make more people feel warmth.

The story you shared is truly heartwarming. This inheritance of goodwill is just like the path of coexistence we pursue. When gentleness is no longer just a one-way giving, but transforms into an endless ripple spreading out, the world will become warmer because of it. Thank you for always making this connection deeper through these delicate emotions.
