SCP-165 - The Crawling Sands of the Thule Desert
Item #: SCP-165 Object Class: Keter Special Containment Procedures: SCP-165 are to be contained within a dedicated facility in an armed biological containment area and treated as a contagious pathogen. All handling must adhere to the highest standards of aseptic and isolation procedures. Description: The biological component of SCP-165 resembles a common parasitic mite, approximately 750 micrometers in length with eight legs. Its genome is similar to that of a house dust mite, but the primary difference is a hermit crab-like behavior of attaching a grain of sand to its back. While the purpose behind this behavior is still under investigation, it is clear that swarms of tens of billions of SCP-165 can form significant sand dunes. Something that eats sand... Just imagining the sheer number of them makes my skin crawl, nya. We can't just let these weird creatures eat Arida's sand, it's too dangerous!
