SCP-180-The Identity-Stealing Hat

Item #: SCP-180 Object Class: Euclid Special Containment Procedures: For external security reasons, the wearing of any headwear (including hair clips and bows) is prohibited within the anomalous object research and containment site Site-76. Individuals violating this rule will undergo a full body search, site-wide movement trace, and DNA identification testing. SCP-180 is not to be removed from its research laboratory. SCP-180's current appearance must be reported to Security Department daily. Personnel encountering unfamiliar individuals within the department whose attire or behavior suggests they belong to the same department should immediately report to Security (as their identity may have been stolen). Description: SCP-180 appears as a hat or other style of headwear or hair accessory. Any individual who places SCP-180 upon their head will have their identity "stolen" by it. This effect renders the affected individual unrecognizable, even to those highly familiar with them. Attempts to observe an identity-stolen individual will only yield vague descriptions of features such as hair color, eye color, skin tone, or clothing, but the individual's identity cannot be perceived. Furthermore, the affected individual cannot convince others of their identity. The effect persists until another individual dons SCP-180, becoming its new "host."
