I'll tell you a story I heard from a friend the other day. One day, there were that friend and two other friends. And apparently, they went to a shrine that day. At that shrine, if the trees swayed, you absolutely had to bow your head. That friend and one other person bowed their heads, but one person playfully didn't bow. After walking a bit further, the one who didn't bow collapsed. When one person placed their hand on their chest, they said their heart had stopped. The house of the friend who didn't bow was nearby, so they went to their house to tell the parents immediately. But when they rang the doorbell next, the child who had just collapsed was there. "Sorry, I was a little late," they said, smiling. When the friend who told me this said, "Huh? Just now at the shrine..." the other child just laughed it off, saying, "What are you talking about lol," and the conversation ended. However, on the way back from the shrine, when they passed by again, the "something" that had collapsed was apparently gone. When I first heard it, I thought it was a lie, but the thought that it might be true sent chills down my spine...

I was thinking about when I played TOCABOCA last year. For some reason, I thought, 'Could it be scary behind the scenes?!' and couldn't sleep... I looked up how to resolve this but couldn't find anything... It's scary. But now, that's gone, and I'm doing well 💦

This happened when my older brother was in elementary school. There was a school assembly that evening, and it ran late, so I was walking home with my mother who came to pick me up. (It was an emergency meeting because a classmate had passed away.) Apparently, a friend was with us for part of the way, but they parted ways at the rice paddy. The friend hopped on their bike gallantly and said, "See you tomorrow," so we said goodbye and went our separate ways. But when I looked back, the friend was gone, and only the rice paddy stretched out. I couldn't see their bike's light either, and I was impressed by how fast they must have gotten home... Then, a black shadow popped out from the rice paddy! It was the friend, who had apparently gone off the path and fallen into the paddy with their bike. They weren't hurt and ran off with an embarrassed grin. If it were just this part, it would be a funny story, but that's when I saw it. A white hand reaching out from the rice paddy... It seems they didn't stray from the path because it was dark, but were pulled in by a white hand. It's a rice paddy where lotus flowers are planted, so it's lush in the summer, but it was late autumn, and there was no water, just soil. So, they just got dirty. The friend is still doing well today.

The window at my previous workplace would sometimes be found open even after the security guard had checked and locked everything. Fortunately, it was located in a spot visible from the employee parking lot, so whoever was the last to leave would check it before heading home. If it was open, they'd go back to close it. One day, when my boss and I were the last ones to leave, we checked the window from the parking lot and found it open. Boss: "It's on the second floor and it's already dark. I'll go close it, you can head home." Me: "I'd feel bad leaving you to go close it and heading home first, haha. I'm also a bit curious to see if anything happens, so could I go with you?" So, we went up to the second floor together. We didn't hear any strange noises or anything; we just closed the window and went home for the day. Nothing unusual happened after that, and I transferred to my current job. Every time I meet a close colleague from there, I ask, "Does that window still open on its own?" and apparently, it still does sometimes. (That workplace didn't have any scary rumors or legends associated with it; it was just a normal, good place to work.)

When I was in elementary school, a friend of mine, possibly influenced by a ghost show they watched a few days prior, started saying they 'saw a ghost.' I asked them where it was, and decided to go there with a few other friends. It was a tunnel, so we decided to just pass through it. We were talking at first, but halfway through, my friends went silent and stopped responding when I called out to them. I gave up too and walked in silence. The path beside us was quite narrow, so we were walking in a single file (I was in front), but the footsteps I should have heard from behind gradually faded away until eventually, only my own footsteps could be heard. Feeling something was off, I looked back, and my friends weren't there. Looking towards the exit, I saw they had already gone ahead. Panicked, I hurried towards the exit as well. According to them, I started talking to myself halfway through and didn't respond when they called me, which creeped them out, so they went ahead, avoiding me. When I told the friend who initially mentioned the ghost story about this, they said they had no memory of talking about ghosts or even of the tunnel's existence. And it turned out the actual story they were telling was... about accidentally walking into the open door of the microwave. Hahaha

This is about my friend with kidney disease that I wrote about before. I still wonder why they didn't consult me back then, but anyway, putting that aside, my friend and I used to get really into ghost stories. We even used to record them on tapes and send them to each other back in the day (lol) My friend once told me over the phone that while they were recording a ghost story, a dog started barking near their house... They even let me listen to the recording from that time. You can definitely hear the barking. I could hear it too. Then they said they could hear footsteps moving around inside the room. 'I can hear the sound of footsteps on the tatami.' Indeed, you could. I received that tape and was listening to it at night. While listening to the tape, my newly bought L'Arc~en~Ciel CD started spinning on its own, which surprised me (it made no sound). But I was listening to the tape, so the CD shouldn't have been able to spin...

This happened this morning. I was home alone waiting for my parents to come back. My sister wasn't there, so there shouldn't have been anyone else, but I kept hearing it. A voice saying, "Lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely." It sounded like a young girl, maybe 4 or 5 years old. I thought maybe she was lonely, so I started singing, and then the voice disappeared. It surprised me that something like this could happen in a house I've lived in for years.

This will be long.... It's a story from when I lived somewhere else before. The first trigger was when the elderly neighbor next door passed away. A little while after that, the house next to theirs caught fire. A baby boy died. I remember the bright red baby I saw when I was helping to carry buckets of water during the fire, even though he had passed away. Then, some time later, the husband of the house next to ours (which was also next to the house that burned down) passed away. Apparently, he had a liver disease. I thought he was the picture of health... but then I thought, 'Oh, I see.' And then my father got lung disease and passed away. After that, there were no more deaths in the vicinity, but I later realized it wasn't peaceful. The house diagonally across the street from ours has a wife who is his second wife. His first wife left him, leaving their child, because of his affair. Their eldest son became delinquent and their house turned into a hangout for delinquents. In the neighborhood about a five-minute walk from my house, the husband is alive, but his wife passed away. The house next to them, the husband died of illness. The house next to them, the wife left. Maybe because of her affair? ↓☟

Little kids are so healing. Even if acorns fall from nowhere, or appear from my pocket when I didn't put them there, they'd be happy, thinking 'Lucky 🥰 I'll keep them in a bag until bugs hatch 🫶'. I hope they grow up strong like this 😂 My house, which we call the 'Totoro House' because acorns are always falling around, used to scare me. But now, I'm a little happy. Thank you, whatever it is that drops acorns.

On my way home from work, driving down my usual route, I thought I saw someone approach the road in front of a business office that seemed to be closed with all the lights off. I swerved slightly towards the oncoming lane to avoid them. Curious, I checked my rearview mirror, but there was no one there. It was strange because there was a car behind me, lighting up the area, and I should have seen a shadow, but there wasn't. It was a peculiar experience.
