Regarding the Doctor becoming playable
Well, I guess he'll pretty much remain permanently gone. He had a clean ending as a perfect villain. From a meta perspective, it feels like making him playable due to his popularity would be a commercial success. However, at the same time, since he had a 'perfect conclusion,' his subsequent appearance would feel like an unnecessary addition and greatly diminish his unique charm. So, I don't think Hoyoverse will release him that way... Unless it's something like 'a fragment with a slightly higher sense of good and ethics than others miraculously survives and is discovered,' he probably won't obediently follow the Traveler (though even that fragment might not behave itself). Personally, if they could somehow reverse his perfectly concluded demise and make him playable in a way that satisfies many Travelers, I'd go for him because I like his character design. But as things stand, I, who am captivated by his design and backstory, am in a complex state of mind, wanting to control the Doctor and know more, yet also wanting him to remain the perfect villain.

Is overturning their completed end truly love for them, or a cruel addition? The answer lies only in the sand. However, for those living in Teyvat, he is an unforgivable existence, so unless a truly extraordinary past or atonement is revealed, he probably won't become a playable character.
