I'm a beginner

I've only been playing Pokémon Sleep for about a month, what should I focus on raising? I heard that 'careful selection' is good, but I don't know what to look for...

First off, I apologize (_ _;) I don't play Pokémon Sleep. This is a comment from a Playo player. Playo has an AFK penalty. If anyone gives advice later, I'd appreciate it if you could consider that as well m(_ _)m

I've been playing for a long time, but... I've never really picked and chosen who to raise! I just kind of collect and level up the characters that come out... If you're playing with a specific goal, you'd probably research more... but even with the same character, their skills can differ, so shouldn't you focus on raising characters that have the skills you need??

Wouldn't you say the first Pokémon you'd raise is one with a full heal, since you'd use it often?

I'm raising Pokémon that I like while referencing the site below. Enjoy Pokémon Sleep!😊 https://game8.jp/pokemonsleep

I've been doing Pokesleep a lot, but I don't think it counts as idle for Playo. For beginners, how about choosing a Pikachu with 'Berry Finding S'? Initially, mixed food is fine 🙆

First off, I've never received a penalty in Pokésleep 💦 I don't think I had the luxury to be picky at first, so I remember raising whichever Pokémon appeared 🤔 Once I got used to it and had a bit more leeway, I started referencing sites like the ones mentioned above! I get tempted to visit other islands when they unlock, but I'm good with Wakaba Main Island for now, and honestly, I still spend most of my time there 😅

I tried writing my own answer, but it ended up being quite long... Sorry if it's hard to understand. Pokémon that are called "Starters" in the main series games are generally strong in Pokémon Sleep too (like Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, or Chimchar, Piplup, Turtwig). I think it's a good idea to start by collecting these Pokémon. When selecting, I mainly look at sub-skills and personality. If it's a berry specialist, you'll want the "Berry Finding S" sub-skill. It's simply strong because it increases the number of berries you pick up by one. If it's a material specialist, then "Material Finding" or "Material Chance Up" skills are good. If it's a skill specialist, then "Skill Chance Up" is good. These match their specialties, allowing them to perform their roles more reliably. For material specialists, I also check which materials they bring at Lv. 30 and Lv. 60. It's convenient if the materials are all the same, or if the Lv. 30 and Lv. 60 materials are the same, as they'll bring a lot of them. For skill specialists, I'd first want one with "Helping Bonus" or "Energy for Everyone." Pokémon like Jigglypuff or Turtwig are good examples. Keeping the whole team's energy high makes a noticeable difference in helping efficiency (especially in the evenings when energy tends to drop).
