Giving Up on Ascent Spire

I was playing 'Ascent Spire,' a retro handheld game-style roguelike, but I hit a wall at floor 10 due to its high difficulty and decided to quit. For those who plan to play, I'll leave behind some strategy notes as a record of my attempt. It's a game where you climb a dungeon, defeat enemies, and complete events, featuring elements like combat action and perk acquisition. There's a concept of leveling up, but even if you try to challenge it after raising your level enough to win comfortably, enemies that are impossibly strong will attack if you stay on the same floor, making it impossible to brute-force your way through with leveling. The game doesn't allow saving, and while there are permanent upgrades through points upon game over, the cost is so high that progression is practically nonexistent. It was just too challenging, to the point where I felt the developer's intent was 'I'd be annoyed if they cleared this easily' 💦 In combat, you need to switch between jumping and backstepping to dodge enemy motions, and guarding. Over-guarding can lead to a BREAK state and stun, so you can't let your guard down. Dodging is easy in the early stages, but it gets progressively harder as you ascend through the floors.
