I've been playing a lot lately but don't know a strong setup

I really love slimes and usually place them in my corner, but I guess that won't cut it when I die... I also place the freezing one (forgot its name), but maybe a damage-dealing type is easier than a disruption type? Since it's a co-op game, a higher damage output is probably better, but I was thinking it's best to keep enemies within my territory from going onto the common path as much as possible (. . `) I just don't know(´・ω・｀)
